
Fix Internet Keeps Disconnecting Windows 11
Fix the Internet Connection on the PC.
If your internet keeps disconnecting on your Windows 11 PC, follow these troubleshooting steps to identify and resolve the issue:
1. Check Your Hardware
- Ensure the modem/router is powered on and working properly.
- Restart your router/modem.
- Check for loose or damaged Ethernet cables (if applicable).
2. Run the Windows Network Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
- Under “Most frequent,” find Internet Connections and click Run.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix common network issues.
3. Update Your Network Drivers
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters.
- Right-click your active network adapter and choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
- Alternatively, visit the manufacturer’s website for the latest drivers.
4. Reset Network Settings
- Go to Settings → Network & internet → Advanced network settings → Network reset.
- Click Reset now to reinstall network adapters and reset networking components.
- Note: After this reset, you may need to reconnect to Wi-Fi networks and re-enter passwords.
5. Adjust Power Management Settings
- Open Device Manager and expand Network adapters.
- Right-click your network adapter and select Properties.
- Go to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
- Click OK to save the changes.
6. Disable Random Hardware Address
- Go to Settings → Network & internet → Wi-Fi.
- Select the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to.
- Set Random hardware addresses to Off.
7. Flush DNS and Renew IP Configuration
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Run the following commands one by one:
- Restart your computer.
8. Turn Off VPN/Firewall Temporarily
- If you’re using a VPN or third-party firewall, temporarily disable it to see if it’s causing the issue.
9. Check for Windows Updates and Firewall
- Go to Settings → Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates.
- Install any available updates.
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Click to Open Windows Security.
- Click on Firewall & Network Protection
10. Reinstall Network Drivers
- Open Device Manager and expand Network adapters.
- Right-click your active network adapter and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your PC. Windows will reinstall the default drivers automatically.
11. Test with a Different Network
- Connect your device to a different Wi-Fi network or hotspot. If the issue persists, it may be hardware-related.
12. Contact Your ISP
If none of the above fixes work, contact your internet service provider to check for outages or signal issues.
